When homeless animals are seen on the street or show up in someone’s yard, they are sometimes unrecognizable.

Some people will leave their pets outside to get by on their own, and they end up with diseases and an appearance that makes you think that it’s a different kind of animal at times.

Animal rescuers found a dog named Belle. When they saw her, they didn’t know what to think because of how she looked.

The dog was gray in color, but she had so many ticks stuck to her ears and the rest of her body that parts of her appeared white. Ticks had even found homes around her eyes.

Most of the ticks could be seen on the dog’s ears.

The rescuers knew that the dog was probably in pain, and no one knew if any diseases had been transmitted from the ticks to the dog.

Belle was found in a neighborhood in South Africa.

The dog was connected to an IV, and the ticks started to fall off one at a time.

Soon, Belle was washed and free from the ticks and fleas that had covered her body.

She is now playful and ready for a new home thanks to the efforts of the rescuers.
