Memory is a fragile, precious thing that most people take for granted in this life, but for one girl who recently lost the memory of her entire life up until the age of 19, memory is something she’ll never under-appreciate again.

Jessica Sharman was just a teenager when she experienced a truly horrifying seizure that left her with amnesia. This was not the first time Jessica had experienced a seizure since she had been diagnosed with frontal lobe epilepsy in 2010.

The majority of her seizures would induce short-term amnesia that would eventually go away, but the seizure that took control of her body just months ago also took something else from her: every memory from before the seizure itself.

At the time, Jessica was on her way to work with her boyfriend, Richard Bishop. Having seen one of Jessica’s seizures before, Rich knew how to handle it, but the aftermath was devastating.

She no longer remembered her family, her friends, or her boyfriend.

Her parents had become strangers to her, and she felt no connection to the loving boyfriend who helped her through the seizure.

Rich refused to leave Jessica’s side, despite the fact she felt like he was a stranger. His devotion proved to Jessica that he must have loved her, so she decided to see if staying with him would help her memory return.

While the presence of her beloved did not actually cause her memories to return, she quickly started to enjoy the new memories she was making with the love of her life.
