A recent reunion of Albuquerque, New Mexico classmates included the opening of a time capsule that had been buried in 1968. The former Montgomery Elementary attendees were not certain if the capsule belonged to their particular class or another one from the same time period, so the contents were unknown when it was opened.

The capsule contained several letters that made cultural references to the late 1960s, especially music and television shows. One letter startled everyone when it was read because no one recognized the name on it, and it made a number of creepy statements.

The letter writer claimed to be someone named Greg Lee Youngman, born in 1900 and a student at the Montgomery School, which he claimed was its original name. He said he enjoyed scaring the police and playing his guitar. He also claimed to be 10-years-old and dead.

The letter was signed “See you later, savages.”Although the letter is very disquieting, the group who found it consider it to be a prank. No one with the name Greg Lee Youngman has been found, and the most likely scenario is someone simply dug up the capsule and placed the letter in it.

The group said it is unlikely they will dig up any more time capsules.
