Many different laws are in place restricting what anglers can and cannot do when attempting to catch fish. These laws are often to protect the wildlife populations and the environment. This is one of the reasons Florida has so many restriction about landing certain species of fish from the diverse underwater ecosystem. Hammerhead sharks of all types are included on the list of sea creatures that anglers are not allowed to land.

This did not stop one angler who was fishing off the coast of Florida. The man managed to hook a fairly large hammerhead shark. He fought with the shark and eventually reeled it into his boat. The proper procedure should have been to cut the line or remove it and put the shark back into the water. This fisherman did neither of those things. Instead, he kept the hammerhead shark and headed directly back to the docks.

The man unloaded the hammerhead shark onto the dock as if nothing was wrong. He weighed it in front of a crowd of people. The shark was over 800 pounds in weight. The man then proceeded to start butchering the hammerhead. A small crowd gathered to watch and one person starting filming on a cell phone.

The man cut into the belly of the shark quickly revealing that the hammerhead was pregnant. The fisherman pulled out a baby hammerhead that was around a foot long. He reached inside the animal again and pulled out more. A total of 34 baby hammerhead sharks were extracted from the body before the man finally stopped. The crowd watching seemed upset by the brutality of what was occurring. The video of the man removing the baby hammerheads went viral soon after it was posted online.
