Donald Trump is currently leading the Republican Presidential candidates in the polls, which means it’s time to start looking at his family, especially his third and current wife, Melania.

She was born Melania Knauss in 1970 in Sevnica, Slovenia and began modeling at 16. Two years later, she signed on with a modeling agency based in Milan. She also went to college at the University of Ljubljana and graduated with a degree in architecture and design.

After pursuing her modeling career in Europe, she relocated to the United States in 1996. She launched a jewelry line in 2010 and a skin care product line in 2013.

Knauss met Donald Trump in 1998, and they became friends.

They appeared together on shows like The Larry King Show and The Howard Stern Show. The media began paying an increasing amount of attention to their relationship after Trump launched his reality show, The Apprentice, in 2004. Knauss and Trump got engaged in 2004.

On January 22, 2005, Knauss and Trump got married at The Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach, Florida. They held the reception at Trump’s Mar-A-Lago estate which has a 17,000 sq. ft. ballroom.

Knauss’ wedding dress was made by the house of Christian Dior, and it cost $200,000. On March 20, 2006, Knauss gave birth to the couple’s son, whom they named Barron William.

During that same year, Knauss became a naturalized citizen of the United States. If Trump wins the Presidency, she will be the first foreign-born First Lady since Louisa Adams, the wife of John Quincey Adams.

Some Americans are voicing concern over her not being born in America and the fact that she her modeling career has led her to some revealing photos.

Do you think it is ok to have a first lady who with a background like hers? A far cry from a Nancy Reagan type. Do you think she would be a better first lady than Michelle Obama?
