Crossroads Senior Pastor Brian Tome certainly understand just how quickly life can change, and also the power of prayer.

When his wife, Libby had a stroke in the middle of a workout, he went to God with a prayer, pleading that his partner not be taken from him. Libby said that during her workout, she had been fatigued. When she moved on to her next exercise, she collapsed.

Brian’s daughter called him to inform about Libby’s stroke, telling him that she was in the hospital and he needed to come quickly. It was at that moment he began preparing for the possibility that life as they knew it was going to change.

Libby was in poor shape when he arrived, and he along with hundreds of their Crossroads family began to pray. They were informed that there was a three-hour window of opportunity, so she was immediately taken to surgery.

Doctors were able to remove a blood clot, which Libby says she can recall as a moment of severe pain. This restored blood flow to the half of her brain that had been without. When the procedure was complete, she was able to again move her hand.

Only 24 hours later, she was walking and climbing. The stutter that had remained after surgery was gone by the next day. By all accounts, this was a miracle.

Libby now lives unrestricted, both medically and from all of the things she says used to hold her back. She says she feels loved, accepted and fortunate.
