A dog is more than just a companion. Pets can lift us up when we are feeling sad. They can also rescue us when we are in danger. Krystal Laurer’s life changed for the better when she met her black lab, John Boy.
Officer Jeff Gonzalez saw John Boy frantically running down the road. He knew that something was wrong when he got close to the dog. Jeff followed John Boy and saw that Krystal was unresponsive.
He took Krystal to the hospital, and the medical workers were able to revive her. Tianne, who is Krystal’s daughter, stated that she thought that her mother was dead. She stated that John Boy and officer Jeff are angels.
However, Jeff stated that he does not like being called a hero. He said that saving lives is a part of the job. Jeff also stated he enjoyed connecting with John Boy. He said that a loyal pet always comes to the rescue of his owner.
Jeff compared John Boy to Lassie. He would have not been able to rescue Krystal if it was not for John Boy. Krystal and John Boy share a special bond. He had spent most of his life in a shelter before he was adopted by Krystal.
