Children can sometimes say things that would make others wonder what they are thinking about. Tara Wood has a 4-year-old daughter named Norah. The young girl started talking to her mother about her love for elderly people. She talked about their soft skin and the way that they can move about slowly and gracefully.
The little girl also told her mother that she wants to love all of them before they die. Norah’s mother shared the young girl’s thoughts on Facebook. Fortunately for Norah, the next day was her birthday, so she went with her mother to get cupcakes and other treats at the grocery store.
When Norah and her mother got to the clearance section at the grocery store, Norah stood up in the cart. She was waving at a man in the aisle. Norah told the elderly man that it was her birthday. She wanted the older man to be excited about her birthday like she was, but he had a frown on his face.
The mother wanted to tell her daughter to stop talking to the man, but something happened that changed their lives forever. The man told the little girl “Happy Birthday,” and they all went their separate ways.
A few aisles over, they met the elderly man again, and the mother asked if he would take a picture with Norah. She kissed his hand, and the young girl and older man started talking like old friends. A local reader noticed the picture posted on Facebook and told the mother that the man’s wife had recently died and that he would be thrilled to talk to someone.
