Family photos are one of those traditions that many people wish in the back of their minds that they didn’t have to go through with.

They tend to take a while to organize, especially for the extended family, and the progression of styles through the years makes it difficult to find photos from the past exceptionally flattering.

However, not all families take the tradition for granted. One family has taken the tradition and turned it around slightly in order to show how four sisters remain close throughout the years.

Many family photos are taken at important times in life, like birthdays, weddings, and holidays. However, the Brown sisters decided to create something special without any need for a special occasion.

The sisters, Heather, Bebe, Laurie, and Mimi, have been working on an amazing project for the better part of 40 years.

One of the sister’s husbands is a professional photographer, and he has helped the sisters build a collection of photos that showcase their progression through the years.

The first few pictures in the collection were taken when the sisters were still in their teens.

The sisters pose slightly differently across the first few entries, but they eventually settle on a standardized pose in order to make the differences between the years more noticeable.

You can actually see the women grow older, closer, and more connected over the years.

The photographer, Nicholas Nixon, has released the collection in a book that will be available on Amazon, and the book is called Nicholas Nixon: The Brown Sisters. Thirty-Three Years.
