In May of 2011, a teenage girl disappeared. Her name was Rachel Natacha Owens, and she was last seen getting off of her school bus at South Brunswick High School in Boiling Spring Lakes, North Carolina.

For five years, people wondered what ever happened to the 15-year-old girl. The FBI even put out a reward of $5,000 for any information related to her disappearance. Not a single person came forward. People were devastated no information ever came from this reward. Thankfully, the FBI will not need advertise this reward anymore.

The mystery of Rachel Natacha Owens has finally been solved. She was found living under a false identify in Columbus, Ohio! Once discovered, Owens told authorities she “left and remained away on her own will.” She also admitted she went to “great lengths to intentionally conceal her whereabouts.” Perhaps this shouldn’t be surprising.

Owens had run away from home before that fateful day in May of 2011.

However, she had always come back. Maybe all of those previous episodes were rehearsals for her later disappearance. What Owens did was not a crime, and she will not face any punishments. However, it does make people wonder why she left.

People close to the now 21-year-old woman say Owens enjoyed writing fiction about running away. Perhaps her disappearance was done in an attempt to gain insight into what running away from those you love truly feels like.
